Why the cuts matter

Call it trimming or call it pruning. Either way, the cuts decide whether the tree gets healthier or starts to fail.

  • Dead limbs come down on their own. Deadwood over a roof, driveway or walkway should come off any time of year. Don't wait for late winter.
  • Weak unions and crossing limbs become failures. Structural pruning corrects them before a storm does.
  • Limbs on the roof or in the wires cause damage. Roofs, driveways, walkways and utility lines need proper separation from the canopy.
  • Topping weakens trees and creates future hazards. We don't do it. Proper reduction cuts keep the tree's natural form and don't leave wounds that invite decay.

How Ron's prunes a tree

We cut to the tree's natural form instead of forcing a silhouette. Late winter suits most hardwoods, but hazard limbs get handled whenever you call.
